Eutimeo “Tim” Montoya Sanchez, Sr. died peacefully at his home on April 6, 2013. Eutimeo was born September 29, 1926 to Franisco and Ginaveva (Montoya) Sanchez at the Spanish Colony in Greeley. On September 16, 1947, Eutimeo married Susie Hinojosa in Greeley.
Eutimeo was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. Eutimeo enjoyed Spanish music, playing the guitar and the accordion and watching movies. His favorite pastimes included going to the dog track and bingo scratch tickets. Eutimeo will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Eutimeo is survived by his wife Susie Sanchez; four sons, Eutimeo Sanchez, Jr. (Julia), Ramon Sanchez, Paul Sanchez (Victoria) and Bennie Sanchez; three daughters, Rosa Christensen (Terry), Beatrice Basquez (John) and Lydia Mares (John); twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Benny Benavidez, Ginaveva Guerro and Marcelo Benavidez. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and two half brothers.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
