Evelyn Frances Baczuk, 95, of Greeley, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. She was born on January 12, 1924 in Carrollton, Kentucky to Otha Samuel and Myrtle (Cottrell) Morgan.
Evelyn lived in Carrollton and later lived in Louisville, Kentucky, where she met Joe Baczuk. They were married in 1944. In 1969, Evelyn and Joe moved to Greeley and were members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Joe died on August 28, 1992.
Evelyn enjoyed singing and had professional voice training by the same teacher as Doris Day. She also enjoyed swing dancing and collecting antique furniture, dishes and kerosene lamps. She and her husband spent eight years remodeling and decorating a home in the 700 block of 13th Street that was built in 1885 to match that era.
Evelyn is survived by three daughters, Teresa Cade of San Diego, California, Carol Joumaa of Fairfax, Virginia and Jean Baczuk of California; two sons, John Baczuk of Fremont, California and Mike Baczuk of Greeley; half-sister, Nancy Brown; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, sister, Marie Morgan and half-brother, Bobby Brown.
A Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley.
