Florence Hiebert Adams

Florence Hiebert Adams passed away December 11, 2015, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born June 21, 1917 in Mountain Lake, MN, the youngest of five children in a German-speaking Mennonite family. She married Michael B. Adams, of Newton, KS on September 25, 1944, whom she met in the Bethel College choir in Newton, Kansas in 1933. His career with the Santa Fe Railroad led them to many different places over the years including California, New Mexico, Texas, Topeka, KS, and Chicago, IL. They retired to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1980. Mike died in 1983, and Florence moved to Fort Collins in 2000. Florence was thankful for a full life, anchored by church, music, family, friends, and quiet service to others. She loved playing golf and Scrabble, a drive and picnic in the mountains, and an afternoon cup of tea with a friend. She enjoyed her PEO friends and projects, gardening, and family travel. Florence will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and remembered for her kind and loving ways, dedication to her family, and ever-ready sense of fun. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Adams, three sisters, and a brother. She is survived by sons, Michael Adams Jr. (Cindy) of Scottsdale, AZ, James Adams (Linda), of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter Jean Tonoli (Tom), of Fort Collins, CO, grandchildren Stephen Adams (Kristi) of Mesa, AZ, Brian Adams (Katie) of Steamboat Springs, CO, Daniel Adams (Jamie) of Scottsdale, AZ, Lauren Patton (Matt), of Fort Collins, CO, Jeffrey Adams (Rebekah), of Littleton, CO, Annie Mertaugh (Ryan), of Jackson, WY, and great-grandchildren Tessie and Michael Adams, of Mesa, AZ, Caleb Adams of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Claire Patton, of Fort Collins, CO. Memorial service is planned for Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 531 S.
