Forrest is survived by his children Renee Leatherman and Leon Leatherman; brothers, Donald Leatherman and Rodney Leatherman; sister, Fayetta Summervill; grandchildren; Ashley Stapleton, Houston Barker, Lindsey Barker, Marshall Barker, and one great-granddaughter, Kinsley Daniels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Gladys Leatherman.

A graveside service will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
