Frances Emmajean (Holland) White was born in Greeley, Colorado, on September 18, 1922. She was the sixth child of eight children born to Henry Hartzell Holland and Ethel Emma (Wood) Holland. She grew up on farms in the Weld County area, graduated from Gill High School, and married Charles Howard White on December 12, 1945, after he returned from serving in WWII.
In her early married years, Frances raised her three daughters, sewed, grew large gardens, and canned fruits and vegetables at the end of each summer. She and her sisters knew all the best 'pick-ur-own' farms and organized fun trips that ended with full bushel baskets.
She was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) established in 1902, and she taught children's Sunday School along with her sisters in the 1950s. All of her daughters were baptized in the old church building on 8th.
After her husband's death in 1971, Frances began what would become 22 years of work in the Greeley School lunch program. Frances had always been a good cook, and enjoyed learning about new techniques, and ways to prepare old and new favorites.
Frances is the last of the eight Holland siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra White of Jarrell, TX, Margaret Hollembeak (Kevin) of Georgetown, TX, and Vicky Weber (Bob) of Goodland, KS. She is also survived by loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. There are also many nieces and nephews surviving who will recall the large Holland family Holiday dinners and picnics prepared by all the aunts.
No services are planned. Frances will be buried in Linn Grove Cemetery.
