

Corky was raised in the Milliken and West Greeley area. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1957. On May 24, 1963, Corky married Sharon Nix in Eaton Colorado. Corky served in the United States Army from 1960-1966. He worked as a Mechanic and Farmer in Weld County until his retirement in 1998.
Corky was a man of few words. He was mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed the times when his family would all come together. After his retirement, Corky enjoyed meeting daily at Sameshima Farm’s with his coffee buddies. He also enjoyed helping during Harvest on his son-in-laws farm. Corky was a skilled woodworker, spending a lot of time creating various yard ornaments that he would sell at summer yard sales.
Corky is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Judi (Wayne) Sameshima of Ault; two sons, Curt (Tammi) Barber of Ault, Mike (Breann) Barber of Kersey; two sisters, Mary (Carl) Pinkstaff of Greeley; Marge (Carl) Thoutt of Arvada; brother, Dick (Elaine) Barber of Greeley; eleven grandchildren, Danny, Niki, Casey, Madison, Shea, Makenna, Brayden, Toshio, Keaton, Kobee, Kisa; eight great-granchildren with one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
