Francis "Fritz" Gaylen Coyle

Fritz was born on October 1, 1940, in Longmont, Colorado, to Forrest Coyle and Esther Coyle (Noreen). Although his parents were no longer together during his childhood, he was lovingly raised by his stepfather, James Noreen, whom he considered his father. He was one of eight children and treasured the close bonds of his large family.

In 1964, Fritz met the love of his life, Phyllis Hartwig. After just 16 days of knowing one another, they were married. They shared 59 wonderful years together before Phyllis's passing in 2023.

A roofer by trade and the proud owner of Sunrise Construction, Fritz spent his life building and transforming homes. His work ethic extended far beyond his career, as he was almost always in the middle of a home improvement project of his own. Through his example, he taught his family the value of hard work, perseverance, and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

Fritz also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Button, whose loyal companionship brought him great comfort and happiness. It brings peace to his family knowing that Button will continue to be lovingly cared for.

Above all, Fritz loved the Lord and lived his faith each day. He found comfort, wisdom, and guidance in Scripture, reading the Bible from cover to cover many times throughout his life. His unwavering faith was the foundation of the life he lived and the legacy he left behind.

Fritz is survived by his children, Jeri Coyle of Windsor and Jacqui Newman (Ricky) of Evans; his grandchildren, Adriana Hartwig of California, Trena Fahrenbrink of Colorado Springs, Trent Cooper (Shaina) of Colorado Springs, Ashley Miller (Greg) of Greeley, Rob Robinson (Amber) of Wellington, Megan Walter (Matt) of Severance, Rebeka Lesh (Orry) of Severance, and Amanda Coyle of Windsor; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his sister, Penny McClain; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents; 4 children and many cherished family members and dear friends who welcomed him home.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Pathways Hospice and the wonderful residents and caregivers at Brookdale Assisted Living for the kindness, care, and support they provided.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the home of Rebeka Lesh.

Private graveside services will be held.
