

Francis “Mike” Loustalet, 92 of Greeley, passed away April 4, 2017 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born and raised in Greeley to George H. and Belle (Marquand) Loustalet on June 10, 1924, the grandson of a pioneer family. The family homesteaded near Kersey in 1870.
Mike graduated from Greeley High School (now Greeley Central), where he was active in DeMolay. He was attending the University of Northern Colorado at the outset of WWII. He enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in New Guinea for a time.
Mike worked as assistant manager at the American Legion and later became the manager. He left that job to become the Deputy Clerk in the Weld County Treasurer’s office. He served as Deputy County Treasurer for thirteen years and was elected as County Treasurer for twenty eight years, with his last day being in December of 1995, retiring on January 2, 1996.
He was a member of the VFW, Elks Lodge, and the American Legion where he served as Commander. He was also a life member at DAV and VFW. He was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps, which played during the 4th of July Parade and at Cheyenne Frontier Days, as well as competing in Greeley, Denver and Estes Park.
As a member of the Eaton County Club, he enjoyed golfing with his many friends.
Mike is survived by his wife Marilynn Loustalet; nieces and nephews, Gary Loustalet, Ardith and Wade Loustalet, Jack Olsen, Jill Dillon, Jody Olsen, Nancy Giambalvo, and Judy Essner. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Warren Loustalet.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Allnutt Macy Chapel. Interment at Linn Grove Cemetery.
