

Francis O. “Fran” Towns, 75, of Greeley, died April 17, 2011 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. He was born May 12, 1935 in Palco, Kansas to Clarence Almer and Ida May (Burgess) Towns. The family lived in Kansas, and then moved to Evans when Fran was in grade school. He graduated from Greeley High School.
Fran married Marilyn Joyce Springer on November 19, 1971 in Loveland. She passed away April 10, 2010.
After graduating from High School, he worked for Sanitary Laundry and Cleaners, for many years. He then went to work for Consumer’s Oil Company which later became Agland. Fran worked in the tire store in service and sales, and retired in 1997 after 25 years. He attended Christ Community Church.
After his retirement, Fran enjoyed camping with family and friends, fishing, collecting antiques and playing cards. Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with grandchildren.
Fran is survived by his daughter Tawnya (Joe) Hopper of Greeley, son Tim (Loretta) Towns of Claremore, Oklahoma, son Kevin (Tracey) Davisson of Broomfield son Greg Davisson (Kate Gordon) of Greeley, sister Hilda (Wilbur) Stoll of Evans, grandchildren Farris Hopper, Bryce Hopper, Josh Gray, Jerrid Gray, T.J. Towns, Matthew Towns, Corey Davisson, Ryan Davisson, Megan Peterson, Kelsey Gordon-Davisson, Brandy Carter, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Fran was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn, son Mark, sister Hazel and brother Duane.
The family would like to thank the ladies at Bonell Good Samaritan Center for the loving care they provided to Fran.
Inurnment 9 a.m. Thursday, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Celebration of life will be held 10 am Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
