Bud was an avid adventurer with a thirst for knowledge. As a young man he had a passion for scuba diving, and throughout his life he was fascinated with aviation and trains. He graduated high school in 1951 and enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for nine years. He earned his Associates Degree from Vallejo Junior College. He also studied Geology and Meteorology at the University of Colorado Boulder.
He moved to Berkeley, California where he was a Soils Engineer. There he met the love of his life, Julia “Julie” Ann Kladden, who he married on April 5, 1959. In April, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Bud and his family returned to Greeley in 1978, where he was a Public Works Inspector for the City.
Bud was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Scottish Clan Douglas and actively participated in politics with the Weld County Democrats.
Bud is survived by his wife, Julie Haworth of Greeley; son, Steven Haworth of Loveland; daughter, Sandra (Haworth) Life and husband Richard Life Jr. of Estes Park; and granddaughter, Alexandra Life. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
His memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Greeley on Tuesday, June 11th at 11am.
