Sorry to hear about Fred's passing.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Jim, Fred & Doryea, Mary and Manuel, we were so stunned to read of Fred's death while we were out of town last week. Our hearts hurt for all of you and pray the Lord will be your sustanance as you grieve and adjust to life without Fred's great smile, bear hugs and all the other things you loved about him!  I will miss his Facebook posts for sure.

Fred always had the biggest smile and was interested in my life and what was going on with me. Even though we didn't see each other very often, that never seemed to matter. The biggest hugs, too!! Loved his laugh!

At the Memorial Service for Fred I was struck by the fact that in every photo he was smiling. And everytime we spoke he was full of that smiling, generous spirit. In addition, it is rare to find someone in this world who sees the beauty that some objects have. He loved collecting and had a discriminating eye. 
My sympathy to all of his family and loved ones.

I donâ???Tt know that I will ever be able to clearly articulate my sadness on this occasion. I am deeply sorrowed by the loss of Fred. Iâ???Tve gone over all the things we have done together, all the moments we have shared together, all the tears and laughter we shared. All of the â???orealâ?? and deep conversations we had. 
I know Freds health had been declining. I am so very thankful I was able to spend the 2 plus weeks together when we went to Amsterdam. Iâ???Tm honored to have been the one getting lost and walking for hours with him! We found some of the most amazing things, places, peopleâ??¦ Of course there was also New Orleans, Mexico, LA, San Diego, Carlsbad, Phoenix, Baltimoreâ??¦we really did see a lot together. 
He will always be remembered as my oldest and dearest best friendâ??¦. I hope he is looking down right now and saying â???oHOFF! What were we thinking buying all that cheeseâ???!? I miss you alreadyâ??¦

Fred,
Just missed you by four days!  Was planning on dropping by monday with flowers, and catching up while visiting from California.  So, I did anyway.  I left several bunches of flowers and a big Teddy Bear on your front porch from the boys, Casey Flynn, Andrew Syrstad, Tommy Thomson, A.J. Kahn, and yours truly, Mark Shelton.  We are gonna miss ya buddy!  Tell those angels up there to send a few down here to help us northern Colorado boys out as we spread our wings and fly!   I just moved to northern California and love it!   Tommy just moved to Chicago.  A.J. moved to Denver with sites on the West Coast.  As for Casey and Andrew, their paths are yet to be determined but I see good things!

So sorry to hear about our loss of Freddy.  We are sorry that we could not be there to celebrate his life.  Our prayer is that Jesus Christ would be made much of in all that happens.

Fred will be greatly missed by those who really knew and understood him. His great big bear hugs and his loving nature.  He was a wonderful, caring neighbor and friend and will be missed on Birch Avenue as my next door neighbor. My prayers go out to his family and friends, and may peace settle within your hearts.

Sorry to hear you had to go but God said he needed you home....He held out his hand and you gladly accepted; for you knew he would wrap his arms around you and take you to a better place...although leaving behind many of your friends and family you knew you would be watching over them and seeing them again real soon......Peace be with you and your family and may God comfort us as we mourn your loss!!!

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Fred. He was one of the nicest, sweetest guys I know.  He had the biggest heart and was always good for some great laughs. At our 10 year reunion we laughed so much we cried.  He was the same guy that I knew since 4th grade.  My best to Mary, Mr. Jimenez and Jim and all of Fred's family members.  He was one of those guys we will never forget.

We are so sorry for your loss. Fred was a good friend and neighbor to everyone on Birch Avenue. Always willing to help others out in spite of his failing health. Our neighborhood will not be the same without him. God bless Fred and may he rest in peace.

To the family of Fred Gibbs;
Freddie was one of the first people I met in Eaton. Somehow I stumbled upon the auction out on Oak Street and he was always there, standing up in the back, like me. Thankfully we were not bidding on the same things, because we were both very determined bidders. 
Eventually, we began to converse, and our love for both family and Eaton history, (as well as home decorating, of course!), formed a permanent bond.
He was a wonderful friend to our new A. J. Eaton House Museum. He  gave us family artifacts, for which he had a fascinating, photographic recollectiion of dates and people. 
He was also a wonderful friend to me. I was the lucky recipient of  many of the ""Freddie hugs"", which he gave so willingly and genuinely. To say that he will be sorely missed does not do justice. 
I hope that Fred's faith will give you peace and courage in the uncharted waters ahead.

My heart and prayers go out to you. I have such great memories of babysitting the boys from the time they were babies.  We had lots of fun together and I sure enjoyed watching them grow up. Freddie was a warm and loving person from the time he was little.  He will be greatly missed.

Its been a few years since I last saw Fred, he was still the same sweet guy he was growing up, I have so many memories of you Fred, from Mrs Asbras 4th grade class to running into you not long ago and catching up on how much our lives had changed.

I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was a dear friend and I will miss him greatly. I worked with him at GIA and he always kept us laughing.  After we left GIA, we kept in touch and he was someone you could go to when you needed your spirits lifted. The world is a sadder and dimmer place without him but I am glad that I have so many good memories of him. I hope your memories will give you solace and strength.

My deepest sympathies to your family. I spoke with Fred just a couple of weeks ago, just to check up and see how he was feeleing. As always, he was researching something beautiful for his beloved home -- I always called him ""Champagne Fred"" because he would have me hunt down the most exquisite things. I would often tell him that we should hold off and look for something that was equally lovely but not quite so pricy! 
Fred loved to laugh and we had very sweet discussions about faith and the abiding peace that I prayed he would come to know and rely upon. His past couple of years were so stressful, but I do know that he knew the Lord and that he did seek that peace. 
I will remember him fondly and I will miss his taste, his excitment for everything lovely and sentamental, his warmth and his loyal friendship.

We first remember the boys at a Christmas party while in vet school and then again meeting Fred at the office in Greeley visiting his dad. What a loss and fond memories.
We and the CSU Class of'76 send our prayers and condolences.

I'll never forget Saturday morning cartoon time with the boys in Eaton. They weren't many, but they were memorable and happy.
Though it has been nearly 20 years since I'd seen Fred, seeing his smile in the picture here brought a smile to may face and a tear to my eye.
My prayers are with y'all in this unspeakably sad time.
We don't get over such losses, but by the grace of God and the love of friends and family, we can get through them.
May Fred's soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
