Gary Edward Magnuson, 72, of Fort Lupton, passed away September 29, 2018 at Platte Valley Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born on May 12, 1946 in Greeley, Colorado to Morris Albin “Al” and Genevieve (Johnson) Magnuson.
He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1965 and enlisted in the US Navy. He proudly served on the USS Hamner and was honorably discharged in 1970. In 1972 he married Shirley Korrey of Iliff, Colorado.
Gary worked for Xcel Energy for 38 years. He loved being involved in his children’s activities and family events. He was also a member of the Adamson-Warmuth Post No. 6634, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Evans.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Shirley and their three children, Amy Magnuson, Ann Magnuson and Cory (Billie) Magnuson; three grandchildren, Mia Bennett, Fiabela Magnuson and Ozzy Magnuson.; a brother, Walter (Winnie) Magnuson; and many aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Magnuson.
Gary’s Celebration of Life will be Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado with Father Rex Chambers officiating.
