Gary Lee Swanson, 81, of Westminster Colorado died on May 9th 2022. Born on February 22nd 1941 to father Wayne Thomas Swanson and mother Bonita Gladys Pontil. Gary left school in the 11th grade in order to begin his life as a workaholic. He worked as a truck driver, security guard, a manager of a mobile home park and many retail jobs. His favorite job being truck driving; he loved meeting and visiting with people wherever he stopped. He never missed an opportunity to talk about the “good old days”. It didn’t matter if Gary knew you for only a few minutes or many years, he was always willing to do anything for anyone he met. Gary loved going to yard sales, racing cars collecting coo-coo clocks and sewing. Gary married Sharon Elizabeth Swanson and together they had four children, Wayne, Lynette, Bob and Jim. He loved spending as much time with the family. He was known for lovingly saying, “Don’t start Sharon”. Sharon was Gary’s whole world; as a recovering alcoholic, he was determined to stay clean so he could care for her as she began losing her eye-sight. Gary’s childhood was not always filled with the happiest memories, but his resilience was what made him the kind, thoughtful and people person he became. Knowing he had the love of his life and his wonderful children beside him, Gary felt he could conquer anything.
