Gerry was married to Lloyd Holland on Dec. 18, 1953. In letters, Mom would call Lloyd , “her one and only special guy". They raised 6 children over the years and loved having such a large family. Gerry was a homemaker until the youngest was in school. Gerry was employed at School District 6 and UNC as a food worker. She retired from UNC in 1990 after a 29-year career. Gerry soon after became a caretaker for her husband Lloyd until his death in 2002.
Gerry’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doing anything when she was surrounded by her family. Favorite past times were camping, being in the mountains, and swimming with her family at Glenwood Springs. Gerry loved watching the grandkids play sports and school activities. They all gave her a great deal of joy.
In her later years, she joined the Greeley Senior Center and loved playing bingo and going to garage sales with the “girls”. Gerry and her special friend Bertha enjoyed taking the bus to Blackhawk as well. One of her fondest memories is her trip she took with Bertha with the Senior Center to the Tennesse Smokey Mountains.
Gerry is survived by daughters Linda Rewerts (husband Ron), Nancy Milton (husband Wayne), Diane Holland, and Karen Sorensen (husband Dale), brother Terry Nunn (wife June), sister Virginia McDonald (husband Carl), 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Holland, daughter Julie Holland, son Steven Holland and grandson Michael Milton.
