Harold Walter Eckhardt, 90, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Grace Point in Greeley. He was born August 20, 1922, in Greeley, Colorado to John H. and Mollie (Winter) Eckhardt.

Harold was born and raised in Greeley, where he attended Olin Elementary School, Meeker Middle School and Greeley High School. He attended one year at the University of Northern Colorado and enlisted in the Navy Coast Guard after Pearl Harbor and was discharged in November, 1945.

Harold married Bobetta Bresnahan on June 30, 1943 in Kimball, Nebraska. He then started his life long career in marketing for Standard Oil (Chevron).

Harold was a member of the HAM Radio Club going by the call letters NOKNK . He enjoyed traveling and many years of retirement.

Harold is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bobetta Eckhardt of Greeley; one sister Leola Latorra of Newbury Park, California; a neice Barbara (Cliff) Blackstock of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a nephew Jim (Loretta) Wells of Newbury Park, California and many cousins and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents John and Mollie Eckhardt.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. service Tuesday, September 25 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
