

Harris Leonard Grunewald, 76, of Keenesburg, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at North Colorado Medical Center. Harris was born on December 19, 1936 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas to Henry Robert and Esther Josephine (May) Grunewald.
After graduating high school in Alma, Kansas in 1954, he joined the United States Army. He served in the U.S. Army Core of Engineers until his discharge in 1957, when he returned to his family farm in Alma.
Harris married Avis Guilliams in Wamego, Kansas on September 7, 1958. They lived on the family farm west of Alma, where they raised cattle until moving to Loveland, Colorado in 1969.
Harris owned a carpet and tile business in Loveland until moving to Sundance, Wyoming in 1974 to run a registered hereford ranch. They returned to Colorado in 1974 and moved to Keenesburg. Harris worked in the oil field until June 2013.
Harris is survived by his wife; Avis, sons; Larry Grunewald (Mandy) of Keenesburg and Jeff Grunewald (Jana) of Roggen; five grandchildren, JoshuaThompson, Tori Grunewald, Amanda Grunewald-Rider, Mindy Grunewald and Serenity Grunewald; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jax Thompson, Wyatt and Jesse Rider.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin; his parents and four sisters, Beulah Havenstine, Katherine Godfrey, Nina Lanham and Edna Wilson.
Visitation from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Stoddard Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00am. Interment at Heart of the Plains Cemetery, 38044 CR 16, Roggen, Colorado 80652.
