Harry Fredrich Schott, 83, of La Salle, died March 10, 2012 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. He was born on August 9, 1928 in Hillrose, Colorado to Fredrich Schott and Amelia (Dones) Schott.
Harry moved from Hillrose to Kersey in 1935. He attended the Colorado Springs School for the Deaf and Blind. After his education he returned to the family farm and worked. He married Arlene Ann Feyerherm on August 19, 1956 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Denver.
Harry attended Journey Christian Church in Greeley. He was a member of Metro Deaf Senior Citizen Club in Denver. He farmed until 1970, when they moved to La Salle. He worked for Monfort of Colorado for 10 years. He later worked at Hesco in Greeley for 7 years, in the rebuilding of Ford engines. He retired in 1987.
Harry enjoyed boating, camping, bowling and woodworking. He was a member of Valley View Flying Club and enjoyed building and flying remote controlled planes.
Harry is survived by his wife, Arlene Schott of La Salle; three sons, Jerry Schott, Alan (Karen) Schott and Will (Shannon) Schott all of Greeley; two sisters, Eileen (Bob) Foster of Fort Collins and Dorothy Haskett of Greeley and five grandchildren, Ashley Schott, Michael Schott, Mike Schott, Sam Schott and Jake Schott all of Greeley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Gail Rose Schott and his brother, Herb Schott.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Friday at Journey Christian Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
