She attended grade school in Lucerne, KS. She moved with her family in 1935 to Brush, CO and attended 5th and 6th grades there. She moved with her family in 1937 to Keenesburg, CO and graduated from High School there. She married Ervin Mitzel on December 7, 1943 and lived in Prospect Valley until his retirement on December 25, 1987, when they moved to Greeley. He passed away on February 14, 2005.
Survivors are two daughters, Connie Lou Maul of Thornton, CO and Barbara Jane Dunham and husband, Roc of Greeley; a son, Gary Lynn Mitzel and wife, Judy of Brady, TX; a sister, Judy Lee Hoppes and husband, Dan of Lake Havasu, AZ; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, a son, Larry Lee Mitzel, three brothers, Harold, Darrell and Charles Jr. Aumiller and her parents.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 28th Street, Greeley, CO.
