Helen B Korgan

Helen Bernice Korgan, 76, of Northglenn formerly of Kersey died December 3, 2013 at her home. She was born June 27, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado to Alfonso and Selani (Roybal) Griego. Helen married LaVern Korgan on April 3, 1963.

Helen Bernice left her footprints on many lives. She had her hands full with a basket full of children, then refilled with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She raised grandson’s Jeremy followed by Jason at age 16. Her children shared many memories throughout her life. Helen’s family loved treasure expeditions along rivers and prairies, hoping to find that rare artifact. Grandchildren brought out the youth in their grandmother. Her last wish was to make sure her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother and sisters knew “I Love You!” She also left with “I will see you again in heaven, give you a big hug, and tell you “I Love You!”, I am ready to go home now Jesus.”

Helen is survived by her children Vickie Selani Kobel (Robert) of Kersey, Dixie Lynn Eichele of Washington, Terri Nora May of Greeley, Peggy Sue Wyatt of Leadville, Johnny Ray Korgan (Susan) of Evans, Jack Alfanso Korgan (Kathy) of Greeley, Jeremy Ray and Jason Abraham grandchildren raised by their grandparents; step children LaVern Korgan Jr. of Loveland and Lori Wyatt (Riley) of Evans; sisters Nancy Lewis (Bob) and Jenny Martinez; brothers John Griego, Fermin Griego, Paul Griego (Flora), Ben Griego (Josie), Richard Griego (Veronica), Jerry Griego (Mary); 29 Grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LaVern, a son Don Mineo Korgan, step-daughter Elizabeth Ann Korgan; granddaughter Desiree Korgan; step grandson Casey Korgan; and granddaughter Bernice Korgan.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 14 at Westview Church of Christ.
