Helen Sparks

Helen Louise (Ward) Sparks, 86, of Evans, Co went to be with the Lord, her husband and daughter on March 11, 2019.

In 1953 she met her husband Leonard in Lamar, Co and they were married in January 2, 1954. They later moved with their family to the Kersey area in the early 60’s.

She was a homemaker, a cook at the Kersey Inn and baker at Walmart. She loved reading western books, doing word searches, painting, family vacations and gatherings. She and Leonard were married 60 years until he passed. Helen enjoyed talking about old times and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her daughter’s Carolyn (Bill) Fuqua, Gilbert, AZ, Sharon (Monte) Behrens, Evans, Co, Jeanie Sparks, Thornton, Co, sons Bill (Jody) Sparks, Greeley, Co, Troy Sparks, Kersey, Co, Ted Herrera, Son-in-law, Evans, Co, two sisters, one sister-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Sparks, daughter Karen Herrera, parents and siblings.

Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Liturgical service at 11 a.m. all at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, Co 80634.

We had many years of hard work at Kersey Inn. She was like a beast friend and a mother to me.
