I know it's been many years since Jay passed away but time got away.  I was thinking about Jay today and discovered he was no longer with us, making me so sad.  I met Jay when I was 13.  Had just moved from Chicago and didn't know a soul.  He lived across the street and saw me sitting on the steps.  Came on over and we started talking.  We became very good friends for the short time I was in Colorado. He actually came to Chicago with a group in 1968 and looked me up. It was so wonderful to see him.    Still was the sweet boy I remembered with the big smile.  Just a really good guy all around.  I am happy to see he married a lovely girl and went on to have a wonderful family. Marilyn and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  The many times I came out to your house when you guys lived by the North Platte in LaSalle, he was always so nice and kind.  Most of the time Marilyn and I would talk ""shop"" and he would just let us be even though I would be taking away from his time with his wife.  Marilyn was always like a mother to me.  Its been a long time since I have seen either one of you.  I wish you would have called and let your old friend's from the county know of your loss. I love you, Marilyn and my heart goes out to you and your family.  Jay will be greatly missed.

We met Jay and Marilyn when we moved to Glen Haven in 2005. Jay helped us with several projects as we worked on our property on Elkridge. He was a wonderful person, always friendly and willing to lend a hand.

In the end, all you really leave behind  is your impact on others. In good and bad times, Jay was always a shining star, bailing me out from my lack of planning on occasion, and giving the kind of service only one small business can give to another. I will miss that. But even more, I will miss his smile and laughter.Chipperman may have left Estes,but the memories never leave. He left us too soon.

I am sorry to hear of Jay??Ts passing.  I enjoyed the time we had re-connecting at the reunion that was held a couple of years ago for Aunt Edna Mae??Ts birthday.  I have fond memories of the times we visited Jack & Vie and family at their home in Glenwood Springs.  I remember when Jay took us all up to the top of the hill to see Doc Holiday??Ts grave.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My cousin Jay is now with his beloved Dad (Jack).Gone too soon, we are left hungering for our anticipated reunions, all of the plans that I had for hooking up with Jay are gone, there is no comfort in the retort that ""life is short"" too short.I comiserate with all those who knew Jay and whose life is diminished by his absence. Sadness comes over me as I think of his Mom , his sisters, his Wife and other loved ones who are suffering the loss of this Good, Gentil and kind Man.Jay's unique mannerisms I will never forget, and that laugh!that contageous laugh, a little like his Dad's , his eyes would squint so tight like they would , his head would tilt back and he would give you that little opened mouth smirk and his contageous laugh would bellow out.Precious !I will never forget his imitations of WC Fields. I pains my heart that I could not have been there for the services.I have stories of when my life was enriched interacting with Jay that I hope to tell you all about when we see each other again.To honor Jay lets us live the life that he would exort us to live.

I want to express my deepest sympathies for you and the entire Bedford family on the loss of Jay.  He will truly be missed.
Congressman was quite the man!  We hit it off the first time we discussed politics.  Perhaps we were cut from the same piece of cloth.  
I was really looking forward to our upcoming summer together, and discussions about the beloved second amendment.  Surely he had a smile, as did I, when the NRA named President Obama the salesman of the year!  
Yesterday, upon hearing of Jay?'s passing, I offered the Holy Sacrifice of Mass for his repose.  St. Therese of Lisieux in The Last Conversations wrote: ?""I am not dying; I am entering life.?""
May Jay have life; life to the fullest!  
And may our Dear Lord and Blessed Mother comfort and guide you in the days ahead.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful gift with mankind.  I worked with Jay at Agland and Gray Oil.  He was always in wonderful spirits and always had an inspiring tone to his voice.  We will all miss seeing his bright smiling face and hearing his kind voice, but are thankful and blessed that God shared him with us to better each of our lives.  His angel will always be with us in our daily lifes and always able to see the beauty of the mountains which he so enjoyed.

Between my visit to your home a couple summers ago and our time together in Washington DC, I could tell that Jay was one for my generation to look up to.  As Father Putka said, I know he will still be among us in Faith and Spirit.  God Bless you and your family.

Jay will be remembered by those of us who knew him as a kind and gentle man, and a friend.  Our prayers go up for Marilyn and the whole family for healing and comfort.

Our hearts go out to you all!  Jay lived his life with such passion, and on his own terms.  His life is an example for all.  He left us too early, but we'll all meet up again in the Great By & By (as Grandma Bedford would say).  I am forever grateful that he was a part of my life.  He was a really fun cousin to have when we were growing up.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers on our loss of Jay.  He was a good, loving, sincere man who was totally dedicated to the Lord and our Blessed Mother.
He was always the wild, cowboy brother I never had.  He is also fondly remembered as Congressman Bedford, who proved to numerous political science students the vital importance of the NRA and conservative politics in American life.  He also taught them that you are never too old to enjoy life and have a good time.
He was a dear, loving friend who will be missed.  I am consoled by our Faith because we continue to be united with him through Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother in the Communion of Saints.
