

James Z. “Jim” “Junior” Conklin, Jr., 91, of Greeley, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at Life Care Center of Greeley. Jim was born on May 17, 1923 in Stockville, Nebraska to James Zoar and Mildred Alma (Guthrie) Conklin.
Jim was raised on a farm in Nebraska, until he was 8. The family moved to New Raymer and then to Greeley, where Jim graduated from Greeley High School in 1941.
On December 10, 1959, he married Florence “Jane” Ferguson in Greeley.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Evans VFW. Jim was a Union Rep and president for several terms with the United States Postal Service., which is where he retired from.
He enjoyed taking family vacations in his early years. Jim was interested in sports and was a Bronco fan.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, Marjorie “Margie” Ann (Steve) Ryder and Tillie (Tony) Marshall; son, Thomas Allen “Tom” (Lisa) Conklin and grandchildren, Christopher Marshall (Regina), James A. Marshall, Jr. (Brenda), Andrew D. Marshall (Chrissy), Joel P. Marshall, John Marshall (Celeste), Michael Conklin, Joshua Conklin, Nathaniel Conklin, Seth T. Conklin, Mari Conklin and Justin A. Ryder; 17 great-granddaughters; 17 great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James “Jimmy” Willard Conklin, grandson, Brandon James Ryder and two brothers.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 followed by Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
