Evans resident James “Jim” Andrew Fassler passed away March 7, 2026. Jim was born February 4, 1965, in Canon City, Colorado to Paul and Marilyn Fassler. Growing up Jim participated in 4-H, spent hours exploring outdoors, and riding his bike. In high school Jim participated in Track and Field and Cross Country. He graduated from Cañon City High School in 1983. He attended Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas for several years where he also ran Cross Country.
Jim was passionate about spending time in his grandfather’s woodworking shop. Jim was a naturally talented craftsman. He was inspired to become a carpenter through the many hours he spent working with his father and grandfather. As a gifted carpenter and contractor, Jim owned and operated Nehemiah Builders in Northern Colorado.
He loved spending time with his family. Jim was a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast and an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Jim’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He served as children pastor in Eaton where his passion for sharing his devotion to Christ greatly impacted many lives.
In recent years Jim valued spending time with his grandson Gabe. Gabe inspired Jim to explore the history of the titanic, retro technology, skateboarding, and baseball. Jim designed and built multiple wooden interactive toys for Gabe. Gabe brought immeasurable joy to Jim’s life.
Jim is survived by his children: Clarissa (Shane), Roman (Shay), Rachael, Caleb (Gracie), Irene, Elliott, Sara, David, and Kenny; nine grandchildren of which Gabe is the oldest; his siblings: Jerry (Cindy), Jeanne (Jerry), John (Molly), Julie (Mike), Jennifer, Justin (Melissa); and thirty-nine nieces and nephews, and his good friend Mandy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marilyn Fassler, and his brothers Joe and Jason. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20 at 3:00 P.M. at Traverse Christian Church at 1010 Automation Dr. Windsor, Colorado. Dinner will be provided at a reception to follow the service.
