

Jeanne Sybrandt Williams, 98, of Johnstown, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home. Jeanne was born on December 1, 1915 in Berthoud, Colorado to James Leroy and Laura Mellissa (Kibby) Sybrandt.
Jeanne’s grandfather, Theodore Kibby, homesteaded in Johnstown in 1876. Her father and mother farmed the land. She was raised there and ultimately died there.
Jeanne graduated from CSCE in 1940, where she was a member of Sigma Upsilon Sorority and went on to receive her Master’s degree from UNC, where she was a member of Delta Cappa Gamma. She worked as a Special Education teacher.
On December 29, 1945, Jeanne married Theron Floyd Williams at the Johnstown Methodist Church. She spent most of her life in Denver and Littleton with her husband, who she was married to for 53 years. She raised her children, Doris and Floyd and cared for anyone in need.
Jeanne was an avid knitter, enjoyed traveling and had a love of music. She enjoyed playing Bingo at her nursing home, Good Samaritan Society in Loveland. Jeanne was involved in numerous charities, including, St. Jude and Meals On Wheels.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Doris Andrews of Aurora; son, Theron Floyd & Terrilee Williams of Johnstown; grandchildren, Cassie and Tim Berney of Brighton, Corrie and Michael Jochim of Escondido, California, Stephanie Williams of Johnstown, Sarah Williams of Aurora and Lisette Williams DeWitt of Denver and great-grandchildren, Hailey and Cody Smith of Brighton, Darren Sapien of Brighton and Jessie William Garcia of Johnstown.
Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 followed by Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Johnstown Cemetery.
