Glynette & Family:  We are rejoicing with you in Jerry's final victory over death and that he is over the pain and suffering.  What a year you all have had!!  His funeral was wonderful and a blessing to us.  It was good to laugh deeply and there were many touching moments.  Our prayers are with all of you in the coming months as you adjust to life without him and have great memories.
I was able to visit with Mitch and Jan & Rhea and hear of their plans.

Looking back over many years of friendship, we think of things that guide us that came from Jerry's wisdom.  We know that Jerry (and Glynette) are proud of the his legacy, seen in his family. Glynette and family,
Our sincere condolences to you all.  Glynette, we will always recall the warm welcome into your First Christian circle of friends when we arrived in town in 1975.  When God miraculously gave us Sarah and Rebecca, your family shared our joy in so many ways.  I think letting us babysit with Melissa and Marshall before we had children was intended to help us learn to enjoy kids.  Those are all precious memories to us. 
Shortly after I arrived here, as a new faculty member in Soil and Crop Sciences, Jerry came to my office at CSU to discuss ?""learning about farming?"".  He apparently decided that he did not want 4 years of studying agriculture to get a degree, but he did not give up his dream of having a farm.  We have driven by the farm many times over the years and admired what Jerry was doing.  I have wondered whether the cow skull has any special significance, is intended for humor, or is just part of the farm decor.
The service yesterday was absolutely the most gracious and fitting tribute to a real man; a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and a true model of a man who follows Christ in all he does.  Jerry is an inspiration and example to us all.
Glynette, you have a fantastic, amazing family.  May God bless you all, and comfort you all at this time.

Dear Glennete and family:  Jerry's service was very, very nice.  Of course, it reflected Jerry through and through.  I really enjoyed being able to see your family again.  I have very fond memories of the boys.  I would like to have talked with them but we had an appt. we had to go to.  
  Glennete, I was so very pleased and blessed to have had to opportunity to help Jerry with that rifle stock.  I remember the excitement in his eyes when I gave him the material to complete the stock.

When I saw you at the golf tourney at Collindale last weekend I had no idea that this had happened.  I've been away for a couple weeks and had not heard anything about it.  I am very sorry to hear of your loss.  I'm fortunate to be close to both of my parents and haven't experienced this type of loss yet, but I know it must be extremely difficult.  My heart goes out to you my friend. Take care Myles, and best wishes to you and your family.

Uncle Jerry was such an amazing Uncle.  I am so thankful for the time that God let us borrow Uncle Jerry from Him; he touched all of our lives individually in a special way.  Even as I child I was able to experience the love of God from him before I even understood what it was.  He was an example of what a Godly man was supposed to be when I didn?'t have a dad to show me.  I can understand why God needed to be selfish and wanted to have such an amazing and Godly man back with him in heaven.  I can't wait to see the pearly gates after Uncle Jerry gets his hands on them, they will be truly breathtaking.  I love you my Mead family and my heart and prayers are with you!

Jerry has shared much with me over the years.  Not only has he helped  with many projects with me as the laborer, he has instructed me in a few masonary skills.  We also shared many hours of discussion ranging from our city government to the important eternal plan our Father has for us.  Jerry was a skilled craftsman that is rare these days.  He was a man of Godly principals and character and a man you could count on doing what he said.  It was a priviledge to have spent part of my life with Jerry and I know he will be missed.  Our prayers, memories and thoughts are with you now.  Our love to the family.

I am so sorry that I cannot attend Jerry's memorial service.  I have an appointment that I need to keep.  Know I share your grief and pray for God's peace to be upon all of you.  Jerry was a very special man and his love of his Lord inspired many, many people.

Our family has been so blessed to have the Mead family in our lives.  We will always remember Jerry's warm smile and calm spirit.  It was very comforting to know Jerry and Glynette were praying for us.  He had such a direct connect with our Lord.

Dear Glynette and Family,
	I am saddened by the thought that Jerry has left us.  I also know and understand that he is now rejoicing with the Lord.  Sue and I will continue to pray for you Glynette and hope we can be of some comfort to you in the coming months.
	I wanted to write about a few thoughts I have had about how Jerry has influenced my life.  !st Jerry was a man of conviction in a culture that has very little conviction.  His conviction to the Lord is what has influenced me the most.  I have considered Jerry to be my Spiritual Mentor.  Every time we were together, whether it was cutting fire wood, working on some project or having fun together I could be sure there was always a Spiritual application to what we were doing.  I especially have fond memories of our long trips we had to go cut wood and the teaching I would receive along the route.  
	I was also amazed at the Lord¡¯s creative gift He had given Jerry.  He could repair anything, he could build with wood or metal, he could farm and be his own vet and meat cutter (I did not like the cow slaughter experience I had) the list goes on and on.  The Lord indeed Blessed Jerry abundantly.
	I know Jerry loves his family but even more importantly was his Love for Jesus.  In fact it was that Love that pervaded all parts of Jerry¡¯s life.  An example of this, is even the last time we met Jerry read from Psalms and commented on the scripture. It was especially during those times I was aware of the special relationship Jerry had with Jesus.
	It has been an honor and privilege to have worked and played over the years with Jerry.  I will miss him personally and his spiritual influence on my life.

I was lucky enough to ""hang out"" with Jerrold about a month ago at the barn. He knew I had started a fence company and wanted to hire me to help him finish a project. I set aside half an hour on a saturday to go do some measuring and figure out what was needed.After a tour of the barn which I helped bale hay at twenty some years ago for 5$ an hour I was truly amazed at the amount of TLC and thought, craftsmanship, sweat, and hours that transformed that old relic into what it is now. When he asked me if I could give him A ride home after we'd figured out the fence, I saw that gleam in his eye and said shoot yeah! After two and a half hours of moving all kinds of stuff around with the tractor, scoping out the fence job, petting the cat, seperating the cows, listening to stories about the city moving the street and negotiations, the giant steel building sitting in pieces, then it was back to the tractor to change out (again) the apperatus to the auger to make sure it was ready to dig holes for our up-coming project. Soon after this, Jerry saw my fatigue and, not having the word in his vocabulary, had mercy on me and said with that wry grin, We'd better lock up and get goin before Glynette starts worrying. We went back to the house and sat in the kitchen and talked about their fence and his cancer and the kids and the grandkids and snacked , and I had a beer and I remember that I didn't want to leave. I lost my dad when I was 19 and Jerrold Mead had the same unconditional love for everyone he met that my father did. I kinda think my dad may have steered Jerry my way because they both came from a long line of frontiersman.I thank god for hanging out with that man that afternoon who was litterally barely hanging on to this life.He was still so shining in spirit,sharing his unconditional love, ready and eager to dive into his next project with a work ethic vigorous and smiling. Jerry was the one that led Bill to Christ in 1959 in SanDiego while he was in the Marine Corp.He helped to establish him in the Word of God.Bill will forever be thankful for the help that Jerry gave him.

My deepest condolences are with all of you right now.  I know how hard this can be, and I am sorry that I cannot be there with you all.  However, I can share one lasting memory I have of my Uncle Jerry.  I remember when I was coming back to N.C. from CA, and I went to Ft. Collins, I was 18 and couldn?'t figure out what I wanted, Jerry and Glynette gave me a place to stay for a little while.  On a few occasions I would go to the farm with Uncle Jerry and help him with some odd jobs.  One day I was helping him with some bails of hay, when he asked me what I want out of life.  Naturally I was young and had no clue.  We talked for a while and then he gave me some advice that I still think about today.  He told me that if I were unhappy with myself, then I wouldn?'t find happiness in anything.  His words have helped me throughout my life.  Also, I will never forget the smile on his face when we were at the farm.  There was a bucket and a toilet seat in the corner.  I asked him what that was for.  He must have laughed for 5 minutes.  Although he is family, our time together was brief.  However, if you met Uncle Jerry only once, you could tell he was a caring and sincere person.  I, along with my family, mourn his passing, but It?'s also important to celebrate his life.  Celebrate how he helped or affected you. As sad as this is for everyone, don?'t let the tragedy of his passing overshadow the accomplishments of his character.  Everyone who knew him should remember how he touched their lives.  My prayers are with all of you.  Sorry I couldn?'t be up there.

Jerry and I first met at First Christian Church. It was the time to think about who should baptize me; when i was asked who i wanted, his name was the first that came into my head; no hesitation, i had to be baptized by him. It was then that i started to see that here was a person that i could learn alot from. This was the beginnning of something i never would have expected....a friendship.
I started working for jerry on his farm about 6 years ago. i learned so much from that man, he taught me what it was like to live with the spirit of christ in your heart always. He always found ways to teach me something and to look for the good in everything, when i crashed his tractor through a fence and into a tree, all he said was ""i needed a new fence anyway""  No matter how he was feeling, jerry always had a smile on his face and gods love in his heart. He had more spirit and fire than anyone i have ever met. i always wanted to quit working long before he did, but he never let me. He drove me to constantly improve myself and to find my way through Jesus and his teachings.
About 3 weeks ago, i saw him and glynette walking through my car lot; i asked them what they were doing and he said that he felt like they should be walking through. That was the first time i had seen him since i left for boot camp. Its scary to think that if god hadn't intervened, I wouldn't hace seen him at all. I will miss him more than words could ever describe, but i will always carry the lessons he taught me in my heart; i would not be the person i am today without him.  I know he's watching over me and i thank god that i was able to learn from such a person; Jerry i miss you and i love you; see you on the other side
