Jill was born March 1, 1961 in Fresno, California to Raymond W. Smith and Karma May Thompson. Their third child and first daughter. She was raised by her Father and Stepmother Ruth V. Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On September 7, 1984 She married Robert D. Murdock in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Children soon followed with 6 being born to that union between 1985 and 1995.
Jill loved being a mother and loved her children and was a great example to them, she was their greatest advocate and champion.
She always wanted a college degree and finally after her children were here, she progressed all the way to a Masters degree in Marriage and Family counseling. Because of failing health she was unable pursue the career she wanted, but she was still able to help many individuals and families and her influence will be felt for generations.
Before her health started failing, she was able to complete another goal and at the age of 50 ran a half marathon.
She was a fabulous wife, and I count myself one of the most blessed men in the world because of our marriage. A glorious 34 years.
She is survived by her Husband Robert, Children: Rob(Jessie); Sarah(John) Volk, Matt(Katie), Micah(Bekah), Marcie. 4 grandchildren. Mother Ruth; Brothers: Ken, Tim, Cliff and Kenny. Sisters: Becky and Rachel.
She was preceded in death by her Father Ray, Mother Karma, and her precious son Sam, with whom a special reunion has occurred with great joy, a reunion that has been greatly anticipated for many years.
Good bye for now, until we meet again.
