Joanne Kay Turner was born in Findley, Ohio on January 29, 1953. She passed away on March 20, 2017 in Loveland, CO. The brightness of a star is most sublime on those darkest of nights when the soul is torn asunder. Joanne’s star was Jesus Christ, and she His broken and tortured, Good and Faithful Servant. Joanne became a living testament, allowing Jesus’ strength to shine through her weakness. She found Comfort in the Arms of God, relentlessly pursuing Him and the depths of who He is, fully man and fully God. Just like Jacob with the pre-incarnate Christ, Joanne has steadfastly cried out to Jesus, “I will not let you go until you bless me!” all the days of her life. And true to His Word, He indeed blessed her and thousands of others all over the world whom she so tirelessly shared the Good News of Jesus Christ. She taught those who’s bodies were also broken and constantly wracked by pain to seek the depths of a relationship with The Risen Christ, and then to take up their beds and share this same message with others like themselves. Their pain does not go away, but their despair in it vanishes, and their joy of doing that which they were created from the beginning of time for. I have heard it said and believe it that this life is the birth canal of Eternity. Joanne is not gone, we are simply still here, waiting for our own birth, into the same Light that she is bathed in this very day. Thank you Joanne, for teaching me who the real Jesus Christ is. Joanne is survived by her husband, Tony, her daughters, Sandy and Melissa, her grandsons Devon, Elijah and Cyrus, her son in law Ambrose, and her brother Richard. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 27th from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, Fort Collins, CO. A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at Allnutt Drake Chapel on Tuesday, March 28th at 12:00 pm with a reception to follow.
