

Joe B. Medina, 84, of Loveland, passed away September 27, 2017. Joe was born June 20, 1933 in San Luis, Colorado to Federico and Adelina Medina. One of 12 children, he was raised in Kersey. He moved to California in 1969 and returned to Colorado in 2002.
Joe married Velia Martinez in 1952 in Greeley. They spent 65 wonderful years together.
He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1953.
Joe enjoyed telling jokes, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Joe and Velia loved to dance in their younger years. He loved his music and playing the guitar was his passion. Joe’s family will greatly miss his kind, loving ways.
Joe is survived by his wife Velia; daughters Colleen (Raul) Ramos, Pearl (Tito) Mireles, Bonnie Jean (Gabe) Ramirez, and Adelina (Rudy) Ortega; sons Ronnie (Lorainn) Medina, Robert (Nicole) Medina and Ricky (Lana) Ortiz; sisters Florence Pluma, Phoebe Medina, Helen Lopez, Fannie Paiz, Candy Espinosa and Virgie Espinosa; and 40 Grandchildren, 50 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Vince and Fred Medina; brothers Max, Lawrence, and Amadeos (Sam); sisters Rose Rubio, and Stella de Santiego.
Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m., with Visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at Crossroads Church 5420 N. Taft Avenue, Loveland. Funeral service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Staging C at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
