

John A. Eastwood, 94 of Greeley, passed away at North Shore Health and Rehab in Loveland on October 13, 2017. John was born April 2, 1923 in Conrath, WI, to John and Franisco (Neuner) Eastwood. John married Frieda Winters on August 26, 1945 in Portland, OR. Frieda died December 7, 2012.
John graduated from Hood River High School in Hood River, OR, in 1941.
John and Frieda enjoyed 41 successful years as restaurant entrepreneurs in the Greeley area. The Eastwoods operated the Midwest Café during the 1940s. In 1952, the purchased the Tea House Restaurant and operated it for the next 11 years. The Eastwoods then opened the Ebony Room Restaurant located out west in the American Legion building. In 1977, John and Frieda moved the Ebony Room to Evans, where they designed, constructed and operated the new Ebony Room Restaurant. John and Frieda retired from the restaurant business in 1987.
During their 65 years of marriage, John and Frieda have traveled the world extensively. The trips they took included visits to China, Hawaii, Greece, Australia and their favorite destination, Africa. In addition to travelling John enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
John is survived by his son, Darrell (Angie) Eastwood; brother, Gene; sisters, Leona, June and Illa; and granddaughter, Kirsten Eastwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frieda; brothers Leonard and Fritz Eastwood; daughter-in-law Karen Eastwood; and his best friends, Edward and Til Denike.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. A reception in the Allnutt Reception Center will immediately follow the service, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens to follow the reception.
