John Raymond Eisenach

November 12, 1945February 2, 2020

John Raymond Eisenach, 74, of La Salle, passed away February 2, 2020.

John was born in Greeley, Colorado on November 12, 1945 to John and Doris (Preston) Eisenach. He grew up on the family farm, outside of Platteville, Colorado, where he worked alongside his father. John graduated from Valley High School in 1965. He attended Parks Business School and worked for one year at an insurance company. He then joined a carpentry apprenticeship. He worked for 32 years as a commercial union carpenter, finishing his career with St. Vrain School District for 10 1/2 years before retiring. John married Kathi Hergert in 1969, and they had one son, Matt.

After his retirement, John maintained a second home in North Platte, Nebraska, to enjoy fishing and hunting. John made annual trips to Montana, where it delighted him to help handicapped children and veterans experience the same excitement he felt at the tug of a fish on the line. He was also honored for his many years of volunteering for the Greeley Stampede, winning the Carl Hirsh award in 1992.

John is survived by his beloved son, Matt Eisenach; granddaughters, Megan and Sarah Eisenach; brother, Paul (Anita Puskas) Eisenach; sisters, Judi Gaines, Linda (John) Fallbeck, Carol (Larry) Garelick, and Marcia (Parke) Stoltzfus; in-laws, Robert and Arlene Hergert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Vance Case.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. Please visit www.allnuttgreeley.com to send condolences to the family.

John was a classmate of mine. Sorry I missed his services. When I learned of his passing I sent a message to all other classmates. In addition to my condolences, below are responses I received:

I remember John as a friend and good person. Sad to hear he passed.
John Rotharmel

May he rest in peace

Thanks for sending this sad news along. John was a good friend. We were linked through band, and especially the dance band. He was an alto sax man and was pretty good at it. Glad I had a chance to see him and relive old glories at the 50th reunion.
