Born and raised in Casper, John lived a life marked by grit, loyalty, and quiet strength. He served his country during the Vietnam War and carried the discipline and camaraderie of his service throughout his life.
After returning home, he spent his career at Glenrock Coal, known for never missing a day of work and for his dependable, steady presence.
John married the love of his life, Barbara (Emerson), and together they shared 57 years of devotion. He was happiest outdoors—hunting, fishing, camping, gardening—or cheering on the Broncos and Wyoming Cowboys with his trademark humor.
He is survived by his daughter Lindi Garman and her husband Jason; his sister MaryAnn Hoff and her husband Ken; his brother Larry Garman and his wife Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents ‘Jack’ John and Leona Garman, his sister Linda Skinner, his daughter Nicole Garman, and his wife Barbara (Emerson) Garman.
Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. A private family gathering will be planned at a later date.
