

When Jose was 16 years old, his family came to Texas, then to New Mexico and later Colorado. In July 1973, he married Rebecca Espinosa in Greeley. Jose worked as a meat cutter at JBS until his retirement.
Jose served in the Mexican National Defense. He owned racing horses and farm animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved to dance when he was younger.
Jose is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Christina; step-daughter, Judy (David Cummings) Davis; step-son, Danny (Kari) Padilla; sister, Lusia Ramirez; brothers, Celso (Mersedes) Ramirez, Lucio (Alehandrina) Ojeda, Isabel (Sabina) Ojeda, David (Cilvina) Ramirez and Merejedo (Micaela) Ojeda; grandchildren, Jaime, Michael, Christopher, Randel, Ryan, Daniel, Tessa and Kobe; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jose was preceded in death by parents, step-daughter, Lorraine Winegar; step-son, Gilbert Padilla; two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Jose will be taken to Mexico for burial at Durango Cemetery in De Julio, Mexico.
