Copper married his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen, on December 10, 1971 and had three sons. He loved spending time with his family and watching the Raiders or the CU Buffs play football. He had a dog names, Corona, who was always with him. Before falling ill, Copper enjoyed spending time outside in his garden and working on his computers.
Copper is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; sons, Bryan, Matthew and Brandon all of Greeley; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ismiel and Henry Gutierrez and sister, Alicia Vasquez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Porfirio Gutierrez and two brothers, Abel and Stephen Gutierrez. Copper will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A Rosary service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 520 Marion Avenue, Platteville, Colorado, followed by a Burial Mass. Inurnment to follow at Mizpah Cemetery, 12837 WCR 32 in Platteville.
