Josh, you and your family had a lasting effect on my life and our lives intersected in interesting ways. You and I talked about motorcycles, faith, wedding officiating and even what defines a church.   I had the opportunity to train your new staff at Full Throttle coffee shop on espresso pulling and drink preparation.  After your accident I pulled shots for fun at Fort Collins Coffee shop and got to know Amy and the kids through that experience.  Later I worked with your brother Justin in property management and Amy has blessed my life with her story after your loss. God is always busy and he loves redeeming hard things.  I pray for your family and for redemption and restoration to continue its beautiful course.  Reading these notes has also been a blessing. - Mitch Hawn

I don't remember much about my Dad. I was 6 when he passed. But I have always remembered how much he loved Jocelyn, Shawn, and me. I only have a few memories and all of which are just small things. I love reading people's stories of him, or just little things they have written. I just found this a few days ago, and I immediately began reading the things people left behind. I want to thank everyone for leaving messages, notes, WORDS, for me to read, whether you knew him or not. Some things I never knew. It just feels good in my heart that he will always be here, with people's memories. Thank you all again.

I just read all of these beautiful notes for the first time... and though most will not see this, I am beyond grateful for all the love and support my family received during the hard times. I love and miss my dad more than I can possibly explain. I pray he is in a better place, and I am beyond grateful for the time God gave me with him. God is good, and I know everything happens for a reason, even when it is hard to understand. This was the most difficult thing that has ever happened to me and I will never forget my loving father. Anyway, I was thinking of him quite a lot today and found this. I read many wonderful notes from the people whose lives were touched by my dad.  I know mine was touched too. Life goes on, and I think about him more than I let on, but I am grateful for the life God has given me. Thank you for all the love, to him, and to us. Your notes were beautiful. 

We are shocked and stunned by the recent passing of Josh. He officiated our wedding in October of 2012. He made our special day so much for special. Everyone loved him. The world is not the same without him. I know he adored his family. Thoughts and prayers to The Ratzlaff family. Please know that Josh made a difference in this world.

Didn't know you.  Didn't know your family.  I am, however, smiling at the life you led, and sorry for those you left behind.  My condolences.

My sincere condolences to the Ratzlaff Family.  ALthough I have never met Joshua and don't know him I am truly sadden to see someone so young, so proud, so passionate, A wonderful father, son, brother and most importantly a man of faith pass on. Amy, Steve, Jayne, children and the Ratzlaff family,  Norma and I were shocked and heart broken for all of you when we read of Josh's sudden death.  We know he is rejoicing with his Lord and completely whole but your grief is heavy right now. I met your Josh when he officiated at my son's wedding. Before the ceremony, I had time to spend about twenty minutes with him. What a wonderful man of God! His sensitivity and caring is something that I will remember always. You have an angel in heaven for sure!

Amy, you and Josh were always so giving and so amazing to work with during the Realities Rally. I can't imagine what you are going through, but I hope there is some solace in knowing Josh is with Jesus. He seems to have lead a great life and I know he will be missed so much. We are very saddened to hear of Josh's passing.  Far too early.  He officiated our wedding last year.  We could not have asked for a better service. Luana and I are saddened to learn of Josh's Home-going.  I remember Josh's love of golf and Harleys - enjoyed him at Pastors' Retreat at Maranatha for several years.
          We've suffered the loss of a loved one due to a tragic auto accident and know the trauma it introduces to a family.  We also know that while we can't ever understand it, God remains good and his purpose in us is never altered by circumstances.  Our hearts go out to you, Amy, and the kids as well as to Josh's parents.

Shocked ot hear of the passing of Josh over the holiday. Very sad that we could not attend the services today. Josh was our wedding officiant and was a pleasure to know. Our heart goes out to Amy and the children.

We are so saddened to hear about Josh's passing.  He positively affected so many people in Mackay during his time here-the town is grieving. May the Lord comfort us all during this difficult time and may we rest in the fact that we will again be reunited with him for eternity.  God Bless you all.

Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to the family of Josh.  I would be a 2nd cousin from his mother's side of the family.  We never had the pleasure of meeting Josh, although being a 30 year State Trooper and Collision Reconstructionist, I know first hand the emotional pain and trauma that the surviving family and friends experience following such a tragic event.  We shared a common bond in our service and dedication to the Heavenly Father, to whom we seek in the most difficult of times. Josh gave  wondrous gifts of love, kindness and humor to those he knew. He expressed his love of the Lord in those he knew. Rest in peace Josh. May the road rise up to meet you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace.

I can't begin to imagine what you all are going through.  I can and am praying that the Lord give you a vision of Josh in paradise, home free.  That the Holy Spirit would envelope you and in His timing, melt your mourning into dancing.  That the confusion and pain the kids are battling would be washed away.  That they would feel His strong hands of love embracing them.

We are so saddened by this news. We are praying for you; Amy, and the  kids. Josh was such a great Godly man, and we know he is rejoicing with our Savior. Let the Holy Spirit comfort you in this time of sorrow.
