

Joshuah Becking, 54 years old, passed suddenly during the early morning hours on December 29, 2025 due to a thoracic aortic aneurysm. Josh had spent Christmas vacation with his family in Gering, Nebraska, and at the time of his death was in Windsor, Colorado enjoying a second Christmas celebration with his wife Megan's family.
Josh was born on April 18, 1971 in Silver City, New Mexico, the son of Jerry and Farrell Becking. He grew up in Gering Nebraska and graduated from Gering High School in May of 1989. Josh went on to graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology Pre-med from the University of Nebraska, Omaha in December of 1994.
Throughout his working career Josh worked for ConAgra in Greeley, Colorado, Hilmar Cheese in Dalhart, Texas, and was currently employed by Land O Lakes in Kent, Ohio. Josh loved his employment in all 3 locations and he gave his entire effort to making each employment opportunity the most successful place possible to be employed.
On July 26, 2009 Josh married the love of his life, Megan Thompson. To this union, two children were born, Adyson Lee and Jase Jerrod. Josh would just burst at the seams when talking about the three of them. Josh's first commitment was to his family and he would completely immerse himself in taking care of their every need.
Josh had a heated passion for the Tallmadge (Ohio) little league athletic programs. If you were ever looking for him, you would be able to find Josh at a baseball, football, basketball game, track meet, or cheerleading activity.
To say the least, Josh was a fantastic husband, father, son, brother, brother in law, uncle, friend, and coach.
He loved each of his family members with all of his heart and with every breath that he took.
Josh is survived by his wife Megan, daughter Adyson, son Jase, mother and father Jerry and Farrell Becking, sister Mickie (Matt) Janecek, Brother Henri Prieels, mother in law Robin Durkee, father and mother in law, Mike and Teri Thompson, sister in law Brooke Thompson, brother in law Marcus (Staci) Thompson, brother in law Devon Thompson, nieces and nephews Quinton (Audrey) and Maddux Janecek, Mathieu (Marissa) Prieels, Kelsea (Tharyn) Curtis, Landon Esch, and Elliott and Raelee Thompson. In addition, Josh was survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him with all of their heart.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents Jake and Lydia Becking, Fritz and Helen Conklin, and sister in law Jere Prieels.
A Service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, January 16th, 2026 at Christ Community Chapel-East Hall, 750 W. Streetsboro St, Hudson, OH 44236. Following the service will be a Celebration of Life dinner at 7:00pm at The Venue, 10 Tallmadge Circle, Tallmadge, OH 44278. In honor of Josh's pride in the Tallmadge teams he coached and supported, the family invites guests to wear blue and gold as a meaningful tribute to his life and legacy.
