Joyce E. Brewer

Joyce Elenore Brewer, 78, of Evans, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Joyce was born on July 28, 1936 in Fort Lupton, Colorado to James and Phyllis H. (Sandage) McTarsney.

Joyce was reared and educated in Fort Lupton, graduating from Fort Lupton High School. While in school, she met Edward Acey Brewer and they were married on June 12, 1953 in Fort Lupton. He died on September 10, 2003.

During her working career, she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Greeley Finance Company and later for NorColo Distribution.

Joyce’s main focus throughout her life was her love and care she had for her family. She was a very kind and caring person and willing to help anyone in need. After her semi-retirement she worked for Mike Parson’s at his Diesel Emission Shop in Longmont for eight years.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kerri Jo Brewer of Evans; daughter-in-law, Patty Brewer of Evans; sons, Michael Brewer (LuAnn) of Greeley, Scott Brewer (Sheri) and Jeff Maul, who Joyce thought of as a son, both of McKinney, Texas; nine grandchildren, Shelly Brewer, Brienne (Jeff) Aguila, Brian Ginther, Ryan (Mallory) Brewer, Brandi Snell, Jordan Brewer, Brooke Brewer, Beau Brewer and Michael (Amanda) Prescott and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William A. Brewer, a grandson, Acey J. Brewer, a granddaughter, Melissa S. Coon, two sisters, Clarice Lewis and Evelyn Alexander and a brother, Floyd McTarsney.

Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville.
