Joyce was born March 19, 1925 near Scott City, Kansas to Quincey Thomas and Opal Esther Radnor. She had one brother, Richard Radnor. She attended grade school at Pence and loved to study and read. After attending college at Fort Hays Kansas State, she taught two years at Manning, Kansas. There she met the love of her life, Orville W. Fleenor. He had just returned from service. They were married June 20, 1952 at Loveland Methodist Church.
Joyce moved to her new home in Greeley, Colorado where she was able to continue her education and received a degree in music and one in elementary education. She felt so happy that she got to start piano lessons at eight years of age. She spent many hours practicing and her mother had to often tell her to go outside and play and get off that piano bench. She dearly loved it and her teacher. She started teaching piano at an early age, and her students loved her, and she was very proud of how beautifully they played. She was a dedicated teacher and taught public schools for 50 years. She served whenever she taught with unwavering integrity and professionalism. She and Orville loved their beautiful yard and flowers and loved working together to beautify their lovely home. She will be remembered for her friendly, warm personality and caring for others.
She and Orville had a deep love for one another and if you saw one, the other one was usually right by their side. Orville was a kind and loving husband in every facet of their marriage. Joyce always said her life was graced by his presence; his sweet sense of humor and sincere jest for living.
She is survived by family members, adoptable family and caring friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Greeley Wesleyan Church.
Please wear bright colors if attending.
