Judi was born in Miles City, MT to Henry and Lydia Watts and had the gift of sharing their wedding anniversary with them.
She attended grade school in a rural community in Kinsey, MT until high school. At that point she commuted to town where she graduated from Custer County High School.
In 1963 Judi married Lee Tedesco and together they had three children. They later moved to Greeley where they divorced. She was blessed to marry Steve Erickson in 1978 and with this she welcomed his daughter where they became a family for just shy of 47yrs.
Judi worked many secretarial and insurance jobs until she found her love of being a hairdresser. With over 30 years behind the chair, she was given the rare opportunity to not only work beside, but share a salon with daughter Leslie for 27 years. Together they built so many special client friendships and enjoyed a bond between them that was unbelievable.
Upon her retirement at the age of 70, Judi spent her years with Steve snow birding in AZ. This was where she found her "Happy Place" and where she took her last breath.
Judi had many amazing talents. Growing up, she would frequently play the piano and sing in her community church along side her siblings. She also had been a member of her Greeley church choir, and the Chamber Orchestra Choir for many years. She was a talented seamstress making not only the wedding dress for one of her daughters, but many bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for all the other weddings. She made each of her granddaughters a knitted afghan, and the grandsons received special quilts from her love. Her needlework and embroidery was impeccable. Her favorite work was a special Marine emblem for her son. But, her biggest talent and love was when she built a miniature doll house, which was always a work in progress, and her proudest accomplishment.
Judi served on many boards at Our Saviors Lutheran Church over the 49 years of membership. She was also a member of many organizations including the Embroidery Guild and The Miniature Collectors Guild.
Judi's struggle with her health these past few months were hard, but it was her strong faith in God that carried not only her but us all through and eventually called her home with healing.
Surviving are her husband Steve of just shy of 47 years: children Craig Tedesco of CO/TX, Leslie Jaramillo (Louie) of Greeley, Lisa Feeney (Mike) of Greeley, CO, and Tara Tedesco of NV, Brother Bob Watts of Forsyth, MT, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, which she cherished deeply.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sisters Jeannie Bird and Kandace Ginther, and her beloved dog Abbey.
A visitation for Judi will be held on July 17th 5-7pm, with services July 18th at 10:30 both held at Allnutt Macy Chapel, Greeley, CO with reception to follow. Private family inurnment will be held July 19th.
