Judy was raised and attended high school in Gering, Nebraska, until her family moved to Greeley in 1959. She was raised in the German Lutheran faith. She was a hairdresser for most of her working life.
Judy married David Harris in 1961 in Greeley. She was fond of cats and had two of her own. She enjoyed gardening and watching cooking shows. She would share her recipes with her family and was especially good at making soups, which tasted just like Olive Garden’s soups, baked beans and frog-eyed salad. She enjoyed shopping with her grandchildren for school clothes.
Judy was a very stern, yet forgiving and loving person. She would go to battle for her family and friends and was not scared of anything, except wasps.
She is survived by her husband, David; son, Brian (Heather) Harris; two sisters, Leona Kautz and Beverly Marshall; sister-in-law, Lois Jean Deubach; brother, Leonard Kautz; brother-in-law, Floyd (Charlotte) Harris and three grandchildren, Alexander, Brittany and Isaac Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Kautz.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
