Karen E. Schuman, 58, of Greeley, passed away at North Colorado Medical Center on February 13, 2010.

She was born January 24, 1952 in Greeley to J. Elmer and Esther M. (Schroeder) Nelson.

On May 26, 1979 Karen married Michael Schuman in Greeley.

Karen graduated from Eaton High School in 1970. She attended the University of Wyoming were she received her Nursing Degree. Karen worked as an RN at several Health Care Facilities in the Greeley and Wyoming. She also worked for District 6 as a School Nurse.

Karen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved children and had a special place in heart for animals. Karen was a dedicated individual. She took great pride in her family and her home.

Karen is survived by her husband Michael of Greeley; son, Kamron Schuman and wife Krista of Greeley; sister, Sharon Stultz and husband Jim of Eaton; brother-in-law Brant Schuman and wife Marlene of Greeley; nieces, Lindi, Heidi and Lori Stultz of Eaton and Elisa Schuman of Greeley; nephew, John Schuman of Greeley; great-nieces, Aria and Lilly Schuman and great-nephew Tyler Michal.

Karen is preceded by her parents.

Memorial service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1865 14th Avenue, Greeley. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
