Kenneth Eugene Stevens

Ken was born to Regina and Eugene Stevens in Greeley, Colorado. The call of train whistles and the roar of aircraft engines played a soundtrack to his life. From the time he attended St. Peter's Catholic school, he felt the need to see what lay beyond the horizon. He saved his money for that adventure. At age twelve he took his first job at Columbine Bowl. Later, he worked as a paperboy delivering The Denver Post and Greeley Tribune. Before he turned fifteen, he traveled unaccompanied to Hawaii.

Ken and his 1963 Greeley High School class toured Washington D.C. He attended the University of Colorado for a year until joining the Air Force. After four years of service, he returned and graduated from CU with a degree in transportation management. His career began as a salesman for Mexicana Airlines, rising to an executive position before joining Frontier Airlines as Vice President of Marketing. He traveled the world during his very active life, visiting dozens of countries. Flying was his passion, and he held a private pilot's license for years. Ken spent many hours as a photographer, developing award-winning landscapes that he artistically captured in black and white. When he retired, he settled back in Greeley, caring for his parents until they passed. He was a faithful member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, attending daily mass until he died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. Ken believed in eternal life hereafter, space exploration and that the Rockies would win the next baseball game.

Surviving, immediate family members include a brother, Thomas Stevens of Crawford, Colorado, a nephew, Bryan Stevens, and Dr. Kirstin Hesterberg of Denver.
