Lauren Carl Hergert (77) passed away at his home in Greeley on Jan 13, 2021. He was born in Windsor to Wilma and Carl Hergert. He grew up on the Godfret Hergert family farm on County Road 27. He was a member in the Windsor 4-H and FFA Clubs showing livestock at the Weld County Fair and enjoyed attending the National Western Stock Show and the CO State Fair.
He graduated from Windsor High School in 1961. After graduation, he attended Park Business School in Denver, worked at Honey Well Corp. from 1962-64, Colorado National Bank from 1964-66, Forney Industries 1966-67, Greeley National Bank 1967-73 and 33 years with GW Sugar Company from 1973-2006.
He was an avid Broncos, Rockies, and Avalanche fan. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch.
He attended First Congregational Church in Windsor during his growing up years.
Lauren married LouAnn Maxfield on Feb 13, 1965 in Littleton, CO. The family resided on the Hergert Family Farm E. of Windsor from 1966-74.
While Working for GW Sugar Company, he and his family resided in Keenesburg, CO; Alliance, Neb; Ft Morgan, CO and then back to Greeley.
His parents preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, LouAnn, son Delbert Maxfield of Windsor, daughter Barbara (Jeff) Mathis of Castle Rock, and son Matthew of Severance, Granddaughter Alexis (Amin) Kalantarifard of Littleton, his brother Larry (Cathy) of Greeley, nephews Lonny (Tiana) of Clyde, TX, and Craig (Julie) of Bozeman, MT, and Great Nephews Bryce, Carl, Flynn, and Great Niece Brittney (Dylan) Keiner.
Memorial services will be held Sat, Jan 16th at 11 AM at Westside Baptist Church (6260 West 4th St, Greeley). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church or the Charity of your choice in care of Allnutt Funeral Services 6521 W 20th St, Greeley, CO 80634.
