On August 29, 1966, he married Pauline Gonzales. They shared 56 years of marriage together. Leroy proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Leroy loved spending time with his family. He was the life of the party. He was respected and loved by many. He was a supportive dad to his children and was always willing to help where he could. He was a fantastic grandfather and is fondly remember by his grandchildren with bike rides, walks to Walgreens to buy candy and toys, Eileen's cookies, and McDonalds after school.
Throughout his life he was known as a jack of all trades - steady, capable, and willing to do what needed to be done. His kindness and generosity were evident in how he devoted his time and effort to others.
In his retirement, Leroy enjoyed taking trips to the casino, trips to his home state of New Mexico and spending peaceful moments outdoors, taking walks with his dogs, Charlie and Levi.
Leroy is survived by his son, Leroy Duran Jr., daughters, Angela (Joe) Ramirez and Stella (Andres) Duran-Casarez, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother, Ben (Cleo) Duran, sisters, Lorraine (Richard) Peralta, Alyce Ice and Connie Romero and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Duran, parents, brothers, Manuel Duran, Fred Duran, Ernest Duran, Jerry Duran and sister, Josie Duran.
