

Les was born December 5, 1930 to Ernest and Freda Cogswell in Fort Collins, Colorado. Les graduated from Pierce High School in 1949. In 1950 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was there for 3 years. On December 5, 1954, Les married the love of his life, Marion Schneider. Last year they celebrated their 62nd year anniversary.
Les went to work for the United Stated Postal Service where he made his career being the Postmaster for 31 years in Pierce, Colorado. Les and Marion joined the Pierce Methodist Church in 1959 where they still attend. He was a volunteer Fireman with the Ault-Pierce Fire Department and served on the board for a total of 50 years. He was on the Highland School board for 12 years. Les was a life member of the American Legion and also belonged to the Moose and Lyons Clubs. He enjoyed the weekends in the mountains with his family, farming, and working in his yard and enjoyed spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed helping people and was a very caring and thoughtful man.
Les is survived by his wife, Marion; daughter, Vickie (Mark) Geib; sons, Les Jr. (Kelly) Cogswell and Mike Cogswell; daughter in law, Teri Simpson; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, CO. After the service, at approximately noon, the family extends an invitation for all to join them for a luncheon at the Pierce Fire Station, 601 2nd Street, Pierce, CO to honor and celebrate Les’s life.
