May 27, 1923 – April 12, 2014
Linda entered into life everlasting on April 12, 2014 at the age of 90, at her home in Loveland. She entered this world in Windsor, Colorado, born to Jacob and Maria (Kindsfather) Hill. According to her parents, she was born on either May 24th or 25th of 1923, but her official birth record stated May 27th. This gave Linda the happy opportunity to celebrate her birthday several times each year.
She was baptized and confirmed as a Lutheran, and maintained her faith throughout her life. She was raised in Windsor, and graduated from high school there. During WWII, Linda worked at Gates Rubber Plant in Denver, making hoses for airplanes. Later she worked at Kuner Foods and in the Hewlett-Packard cafeteria in Loveland.
Linda married John V. (Vic) Fahrenbruck in a Christmas Eve ceremony in Forsyth, Montana while Vic was home on leave from the Army in 1945. After the war, they moved to Windsor and then to other cities in Colorado, Kansas and Texas for Vic’s job with Western Alfalfa. They had a son, Terry, and a daughter, Karen.
Linda felt that strangers were just friends that she hadn’t met yet. She had a talent for making people feel comfortable and was always thinking of something ‘special’ that she could do for them. She loved sharing whatever she had with others, but most of all she freely gave out hugs and an “I love you!” She was a writer, producing hundreds of pages of short stories and poems. She also compiled an extensive history of her family’s life in Russia.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, 3 sisters, and her husband, Vic. She is survived by sisters Matilda Miller, Minnie Gonsior, and Martha Neergaard; her son, Terry Fahrenbruck (Phyllis), daughter Karen Miller (Jack Dieball); grandchildren Karyl (John) Willis, Jonna (Robert) Squires, Russell Miller and Randy (Ariane) Miller; great-grandchildren Alexis, Kayci, TJ, Hannah, Tori, Michael and Olive; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4650 Sunview Drive, Loveland at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Linda asked that you wear cheerful spring colors to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, Immanuel Lutheran Church, or the organization of your choice. Please go to www.allnutt.com to send condolences and sign the guestbook.
