Linda attended Sheridan High School, graduating in 1976 and attended the University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 1980. She was an advocate for the handicap community. In the 1980s she helped Greeley businesses comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and she helped expand the Access-A-Ride bus service. She continued to help individuals connect with support services the rest of her working career. She was extremely involved in her community. She was proudly a part of bringing the Greeley Stampede to life for 29 years. She was involved in numerous other community volunteer programs.
Linda was a social butterfly with a cheery disposition, full of smiles for everyone, enthusiastic, upbeat, strong and resilient with lots of tenacity. She worked hard at living life to the fullest. She kept moving forward and never let her 35 years in a wheelchair and 41 years with MS stop her. She was known for her variety of hats. Linda had pet birds most of her life, starting in Jr. High. She enjoyed playing bingo at her apartment complex, having lunches at local senior centers and spending time with friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Judith (Edward) Gilroy, Cheryl (Michael) Fitzgerald, and Sheila (Rich) Bruursema, five nieces, one nephew, one aunt, one uncle, multiple cousins, and a host of friends in the Greeley area.
She is preceded in death by her parents. A private family service will be held at a later date.
