Lupe Navarro Ybarra

Lupe Navarro Ybarra, 83, passed away on August 12, 2026. Born on November 27, 1942, in Uvalde, Texas, Lupe was one of ten siblings, and from those early beginnings carried forward a steady resilience and a generous spirit that remained evident throughout life. Lupe resided in Eaton, Colorado.

Lupe served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. That chapter of service reflected a quiet courage and an adventurous willingness to go where duty called. In civilian life, Lupe worked as a farmer for most of his life, including work for Don Hurgert, Dave Gustafson, Rusty Leffler, and Doug Hood—years marked by perseverance, responsibility, and the kind-hearted constancy of someone who showed up day after day and did the work that needed doing.

Lupe and Augestina (Tina) Ybarra were married for 55 years, and created a family; their daughter Jessica, and their son Juan.

A true lover of the outdoors, Lupe found joy in simple, sustaining pleasures—fishing, gardening, and time spent outside. Lupe enjoyed watching football, especially the Denver Broncos. Known for talking to everyone and anyone, Lupe had an easy way of connecting with people, often brightened by a jokester’s wit and a friendly warmth that made others feel welcome. Lupe also enjoyed listening to Tejano music and watching western movies.

Lupe was preceded in death by his Parents, three Brothers, a Sister and son.

Lupe is survived by wife, Augestina, daughter, Jessica Wilcox ,son in law, and two granddaughters.
