

Juvana was born to Jesse Eugene Epperson and Arra Alamay Burke Epperson, April 14th,1937 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family moved frequently, first to Richmond, CA, then to Rock Springs, WY, finally settling in Rawlins, WY when Juvana was in 3rd grade. Juvana participated in various activities while growing up in Rawlins. She was active in the high school band and was a Job’s daughters queen. After graduating from Rawlins high school, she went off to pursue a degree at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Juvana decided to marry the love of her life, Edward Wheeler, one year later, and the couple moved back to Rawlins, WY. Ed was drafted into the army and the couple was off again to Monterrey, CA, Washington state, and eventually Bad Kreuznach, Germany. After Ed was honorably discharged, the couple moved back to Rawlins where Juvana worked at a local radio station.
The couple moved to Laramie, WY and then Lander, WY where they had their first child, Todd in 1963. Their second child, Mike, was born three years later in 1966. The family moved to Greeley in 1969, and Juvana received her teaching degree in 1971 from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught at Madison elementary school for five years before transferring over to Meeker elementary school for twenty-five years. Juvana received her master's degree in media technology in 1983.
Many organizations were important to Juvana. She was a member of the NEA, Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the Nile, and Order of the Eastern Star. She also served as President of Hillside pool in Greeley.
Traveling and seeing the world was Juvana’s passion. She loved traveling with her sister Norma and her friends to faraway locales such as China, Thailand, Ireland, and Russia.
Juvana was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, and brother-in-law Paul. She is survived by her sons Todd (Annette) and Michael (Sue); her grandsons Alec (Ayla), Stephen (Jenna), Cody (Morgan) and Jake (Sheyanne) Wheeler; great grandchildren Blake, Brandt, Wade, Wesley and Sadie and one on the way. She also leaves behind a sister Norma Wheeler and brother Gary Epperson (Joanne) along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Macy Allnutt 6521 W. 20th St. Greeley, CO.
