Mae was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 6, 1918 to Mae and Chauncey Seedorf and was the oldest of their four children. Mae was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Father Warren H. Seedorf, CSP and Raymond. She is survived by her sister, Jean and her brother-in-law, Thomas Byrne of Huntsville, Texas. She also leaves behind three nieces and a nephew.
After graduating from High School, she entered Grand Central Art School in New York City. Over many years, Mae, a very talented artist, has painted and sold numerous paintings, mostly of scenery and animals. She enjoyed playing the organ and golfing.
Mae and her brother moved to Greeley from Portland, Oregon when Father Seedorf was made an assistant pastor at both St. Peter’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. Mae loved and attended St. Mary’s Church. At this time Jean and Tom would like to extend our heartfelt thank you for the dear friends and caregivers who were always there for her since we lived so far away. She was truly blessed! Due to her poor health, Mae spent her last few years living at the Good Samaritan Community.
There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley on Friday, March 22nd at 11:30 a.m. It will be followed with a burial service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate your prayers for her.
