He grew up in Greeley where he received his education. After, he worked with his father’s trucking business, hauling hay and onions. He worked at Monfort Portions Plant for many years. He then went on to own Mark’s Tires for a number of years, where he helped many people who were having a hard time in their lives. Marcos had a deep faith and followed the Lord Jesus.
Marcos loved the Denver Broncos. He was also very active, he played baseball for the Rodarte Center and was also a Boxer at Greeley Police Center at the old Lincoln School.
Marcos is survived by his two daughters, Crystal Frias of Greeley and Aarone Benavidez of Greeley, two sons, Jose Benavidez of Portland, Oregon and Marcus Benavidez of Portland Oregon, his two sisters Rita Benavidez of Greeley and Sylvia (Manuel) Cruz of Greeley, three brothers Joe Benavidez of Greeley, Isadore Benavidez of Greeley, and Vince Benavidez of Greeley. Marcos is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceeded in death by his parents, sister Geneva Benavidez, and brother Nemecio Benavidez Jr.
Visitation Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Please wear Denver Bronco attire to the Celebration of life.
